Hailing from OKC, Ckai is a young woman on a mission to make great music and to inspire others along the way. Ckai got her start in this business at the age of 15 as a Choir director and vocal phenom (known early simply by her first name Ckai), for some of the biggest choirs known to Okc. She has also participated in countless seminars, and gospel workshops Her mother and grandmother among others in her family taught, directed, played, and composed music (including Evelyn LaRue Pittman (aunt), composer of “Done Made My Vow”).
Ckai was also the main vocalist for the long running group Change (formerly Luther Vandross old group). At 23, Ckai started doing background vocals and became the opening act for many of the industries best such as…. Monica, Marcus Houston, Jagged Edge, Issac Hayes, Atlantic Starr, Morris Day and the Time, The Delphonics, Midnight Star.
Fast forward about 6 years, while spending time in college, and as a business woman Ckai made up her mind that music was her heart’s true passion. Ckai began working as a songwriter which later earned her the opportunity to hone her skills and perfect her vocal as well as songwriting abilities.

Ckai Dawson’s most recent endeavors find her focused on a new music project, acting, and writing her first book delving into the story of her musical family. Ckai’s goals are to not only make great music, but to encourage young adults to express themselves through their art and to show that it is possible to make a career out of what they love, if they choose. She also plans to expand into fashion in the future. Ckai Dawson is working this year! She is carving her place as a singer, songwriter, philanthropist, entrepreneur, fashion enthusiast, & all around artist, and she is reaching past the borders of Oklahoma. Ckai invites the world to join in with her as the voice to look out for.
